Natalia Carr paints in oil in the classical tradition. Although Mrs. Carr started painting just six years ago, her paintings are already in several private collections in the USA and in Russia. She is currently living with her husband and two children in Louisiana, USA.
Painting gives me a sense of accomplishment, peace of mind, and happiness. In still-life painting, my main goal is to create a feeling of depth and sense of light falling over objects. There is the challenge of suggesting varied textures and surfaces with paint, and to design and relate different objects to one another. Paintings of the Old Masters, ( Jean-Baptist Chardin, Louis Melendez and the Dutch Masters of the 17th Century), play an important role in my development and growth as an artist. I paint because I want viewers to open their eyes to see things differently and observe the beauty of something as simple as an onion or some fruit. My goal is to be a better painter, to create paintings that will give people a sense of joy, and to inspire others to pause, observe and forget the cares of their life if just for a moment.
