" I was born in Russia in 1963. After graduation from Astrakhan Conservatory in 1987, I worked as a teacher of piano in the Lipetsk Musical College. The Turning point in my life was the immigration to the USA in 1999. "
"In 2000 I picked up the brush the first time and since then I devoted myself to the art of painting. During my relatively short period of development as an artist I tried to paint landscapes, portraits, wildlife paintings, but now I am focused more on still life painting. Painting still life for me is a form of meditation and relaxation. Here is no time limit, I can set up my still life and paint as long as I wish and all choices are very personal. In still life painting my main goal is to create a feeling of depth and sense of light falling over objects. There is the challenge of suggesting varied textures and surfaces with paint, and to design and relate different objects to one another."
"Paintings of Old Masters (Jean-Baptist Chardin, Louis Melendez and the Dutch Masters of the 17th Century) play an important role in my development and growth as an artist."
"I paint because I want viewers to open their eyes to see things differently and observe the beauty of ordinary subjects. My goal is to be a better painter, to create paintings that will give people a sense of joy, and to inspire others to pause, observe and forget the cares of their life if just for a moment.”
